What is an IAT Sprint?

Join a collaboration of bright minds to develop innovative solutions to pressing global industry issues. Gain experience, network, and industry mentorship through intense, project based sprints.

Innovation requires more than strong technical skills and knowledge. It requires a mindset,
confidence, and courage to generate new ideas, collaborate, and recognize views from all team
members. Innovate-A-Thon® (IAT) provides a unique opportunity for university students to
develop these characteristics and solve real world problems, while receiving a scholarship and
growing their professional networks and career opportunities.

Our Unique Approach

Students

Students from any U.S. university can apply to participate and create viable solutions for topics such as advanced recycling and sustainability, regenerative agriculture, resource effective prosthetics for developing regions, rechargeable battery adoption, 3-D printed custom footwear, pedestrian safety, and much more.

All students receive a modest scholarship, substantially boost their professional networks and career options, and – importantly – gain essential confidence and courage to collaboratively innovate

Innovate-A-Thon® Sprint

In each sprint, 9-15 students work in teams of 3-5 to separately address the problem statement, innovate a solution, and illustrate technical and economic viability.

Innovate-A-Thon® Topics

Topics are selected based on quarterly nationwide nominations and votes—all stakeholders have a say in topic selection! IATs are sponsored by industry and organizations with an interest in the topic. If a particular company or organization would like to sponsor an entire IAT sprint, they can designate a topic!

Innovation Talent Recruitment and Career Fairs

IAT is university recruiters’ and students’ talent and recruitment headquarters!

What makes our recruiting and career events unique and effective? We bring the best and
remove the most challenging aspects of virtual and in person events! Our robust online
platform allows recruiters and candidates to meet in general session, as well as small groups,
and one-on-one—from any location. Because we solicit university candidates and prescreen
them—recruiters’ and students’ time in our event will be spent in topic specific one day events including general sessions, group interview, and private interview spaces.

One day events are topic specific. All students are prescreened, so everyone in the virtual
room is ready to be there. We welcome 30 students and 20 recruiters per event.

Sponsorships for events range from $600-$4,000, and we provide a money back guarantee. If you aren’t impressed with the talent we bring, we will refund your sponsorship. We would love
to talk with potential sponsors about the benefits provided at every level. Please contact us at
paul@ed2s.org.

Students interested in participating in Innovate-A-thon can apply through Handshake, or
directly via email at paul@ed2s.org.

All proceeds from Innovation Talent Recruitment and Career Fairs directly benefit Innovate-A-thon Innovation sprints.
